The Northern Neck Tourism Commission

MISSION

To facilitate and promote tourism by capitalizing on our natural, historical, cultural, recreational resources, and increasing lodging and dining opportunities in a way that enhances the local community and visitor experiences. The NNTC will implement a new Tourism Plan for the region, which includes King George, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland Counties.

ACTIVITY

 

2011-10-17

Members of the Northern Neck-Chesapeake Bay Region Partnership decided to extend an invitation to King George County to join the Northern Neck Tourism Commission (NNTC). Beginning on January 1st, 2012, the NNTC will thus become a regional organization including the five geographic counties of the Northern Neck Peninsula---King George, Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland.

 

2011-01-24

The Northern Neck Tourism Commission approved the draft of its Northern Neck Tourism Plan dated 12/17/2010.

 

2010-09-28

MONTROSS, VA (28 September 2010): Paul Reber, Northern Neck Tourism Commission President, receives a check from Virginia's Lieutenant Governor Bill Bolling. The $7,500 are a grant from the Virginia Tourism Corporation for the development of a tourism branding and marketing campaign for the Northern Neck region.

 

 

2010-05-12

The 2010 Official Northern Neck Guide has been published and is now available for wide distribution. A new design for the NNTC's web site has been launched: www.northernneck.org

 

2009-08-21

Meeting at the Northern Neck Planning District Commission, where River Country Publishing presented its ideas and preliminary design of the 2010 Official Northern Neck Guide. Representatives from each Northern Neck county also discussed what changes should be applied to the NNTC's web site.

More than 92,000 copies of the 2009 Guide have been distributed so far.

Also discussed: Updates of local listings in the Virginia Tourism Corporation's Virginia is for Lovers Guide, which are due in the next couple of days. If necessary, the NNTC will talk to legislators regarding VTC's designation of the Northern Neck as an independent tourism region, as opposed to its current classification as part of the Chesapeake Bay Region.
