* 2012-05-14 - PROFESSIONAL STRUCTURAL ENGINEERING SERVICES - Ends May 30, 2012, 2 p.m. EST

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) will implement a hazard-mitigation project in Northumberland County, Virginia, for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). The planned improvement is the elevation of one (1) home above the floodplain.

Two (2) sealed copies of each proposal must be delivered to the offices of the Northern Neck Planning District Commission by 2 p.m., May 30, 2012. The RFP can be downloaded here.

* 2012-03-07 - INVITATION TO BID - ENERGY-EFFICIENCY RETROFITS - ENDS 22 MARCH 2012, 2 p.m. EST

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission is accepting bids from qualified contractors for performing energy-efficiency retrofits to three buildings in Warsaw, Virginia. The retrofits will address three areas of energy efficiency:

1) Lighting fixtures and motion-sensing light switches (download the bid package here)
2) Sprayed, open-cell foam insulation (download the bid package here)
3) HVAC equipment and a Water Heater (download the bid package here) AMENDED*

*AMENDMENT #1 to "HVAC equipment and a Water Heater" bid package (3/8/2012):

ALTERNATE WATER HEATER – EQUIPMENT: OPTION TO USE POWER VENTED, 93-GALLON CONDENSING (96% EFFICIENCY) WATER HEATER.

*AMENDMENT #2 to "HVAC equipment and a Water Heater" bid package (3/9/2012):

HVAC– EQUIPMENT: QUANTITIES FOR EQUIPMENT OTHER THAN HEAT PUMPS LISTED HAVE BEEN CHANGED FROM FIVE (5) TO SIX (6), SINCE THERE ARE ACTUALLY SIX HEAT PUMPS TO BE INSTALLED, NOT FIVE.

Contractors must submit a separate bid for each of the three areas listed above, but there is no requirement to submit all three.

All bids and work performed must comply with requirements of the Buy American Provision, as established by the U.S. Department of Energy.

All work must be completed within 30 days from the day bids are opened.

* 2012-03-04 - PROFESSIONAL ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT PLANNING SERVICES - ENDS 16 MARCH 2012, 12 p.m. EST

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) requests proposals and qualification statements from firms experienced and qualified to assist the NNPDC with a SWOT analysis and other tasks related to the review and update of the Northern Neck Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (NNCEDS). A detailed RFP is available for download here.

* 2012-02-19 - INVITATION TO BID - DEMOLITION & CONSTRUCTION - ENDS 8 MARCH 2012, 2 p.m.

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission is soliciting bids from qualified contractors to demolish and rebuild one single-family residential structure in Northumberland County, as part of the Northern Neck Severe Repetitive Loss (SRL) Project. These improvements are funded in part through a grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management (VDEM). * 2011-11-15 - PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING & SURVEYING SERVICES - ENDS 9 DECEMBER 2011, 5 p.m.

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission is requesting proposals from professional structural engineers licensed and registered to conduct business in the Commonwealth of Virginia. The selected individual or firm will interact with state and local officials, property owners, and other service providers involved in the implementation of FEMA's Severe Repetitive Loss Grant SRL-2009-133-001. Information and guidance about the SRL program may be found here.

* 2011-10-24 - PROFESSIONAL ENGINEERING & SURVEYING SERVICES - ENDS 30 NOVEMBER 2011, 5 p.m.

The NNPDC will be implementing Repetitive Flood Claims (RFC) projects for Lancaster County, Virginia. The planned improvements will include the elevation of two (2) homes that are located in Lancaster County near Windmill Point. Both homes reside in a “VE” Flood Zone. Homes will be elevated between six (6) to ten (10) feet. In each case, the individual homeowners will be consulted to provide input as to what will happen with their homes, and this will be a part of the design criteria. Plans will be submitted to FEMA for historic review and approval.

* 2010-09-03 - Professional marketing, branding, advertising & graphic design services - ENDS 24 SEPTEMBER 2010

The Northern Neck Tourism Commission (NNTC), which includes Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond, and Westmoreland Counties, is a regional effort to promote the Northern Neck. NNTC is embarking on a marketing and branding campaign and requires the design and creation of a logo, advertisement, and brochure using a similar theme. All materials will be submitted in color in both print and unlocked digital formats, along with native design files.

Respondents should submit five (5) copies of the proposals titled NNTC Marketing & Branding Project to Jerry W. * 2010-08-27 - Professional Planning, Engineering, Design, and Inspection Services for Regional Broadband Project - ENDS 17 SEPTEMBER 2010

The Northern Neck Planning District Commission (NNPDC) and the counties of Lancaster, Northumberland, Richmond and Westmoreland have been engaged in community broadband planning for more than four (4) years. A telecommunications implementation plan was developed and used as the basis of an application to the U. S. Department of Commerce in Round 2 of the broadband stimulus grant program under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. NNPDC has completed the due diligence portion of the application review and awaits notice of federal funding to implement a middle mile broadband network on the Northern Neck Peninsula. The Northern Neck PDC requests proposals and qualification statements from firms experienced and qualified to conduct final planning, engineering, design and inspection services, if construction funding is received from NTIA. The respondents will be evaluated based on the following criteria: 1. Qualification of firm’s staff. 2. Familiarity with broadband planning, design, engineering & inspection activities. 3. Capacity of firm to perform the work within limited time-frame. 4. Quality of performance in past and!or similar projects. 5. Knowledge and familiarity of firm’s staff with NTJA’s Grant procedures and requirements.
